Krystal Rains and Richard Costas share their adventures at the Very Large Array, one of the world's premier atronomical radio observatories — 27 radio antennas in a Y-shaped configuration on the Plains of San Agustin, fifty miles west of Socorro, NM.
The presentation will include a DVD obtained from the gift shop, plus some personal pictures from their most recent visit.

Filk Sing - Science Fiction Folk Music Loosely themed to songs by and about LASFS members and their works.
A subtitled Japanimation-watching club, usually meets the second Saturday of each month, starting at 1PM

A movie-watching club: chick flicks.
"Ladies Auxiliary Sewing and Fallout Society."
LASFS members of all genders are welcome to watch a selection of
videos chosen by the Chick Flicks committee,
and encouraged to bring craft projects they wish to work on.
Usually meets the first Saturday of each month, 2PM - 9 PM.
FWEMS
Fourth Week-End Movie Series, a movie-watching club.
Usually meets the fourth Sunday of each month, starting at 2 PM.
Second Sunday Open House
Features a Barbecue, the LASFS Library, conversation, and gaming.
Usually meets the second Sunday of each month, starting at 2 PM.
Dues are requested of members on Second Sundays
if they have not paid during the preceding Thursday or Friday.
Short Story Readings
We gather to enjoy short stories read aloud.
Genre classics, hidden treasures, and recent works.
Visitors always welcome!
