The Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, founded October 27, 1934, is the world's oldest continuously-active science-fiction and fantasy club. We have been home to fans of science fiction and fantasy ever since then. Guests and prospective members are always welcome. Come in any Thursday and look around. Ask someone to point out the Registrar, who will ask you to fill out a guest card. Feel free to join in any of the conversations taking place.

The meeting officially begins at 8:00 PM (well really about 8:12), but there's always something going on at least an hour before the start time. Newcomers may attend three free meetings before we ask them to join. After the third time, we'll decide they must like it here, and ask them to fill out a membership form and pay a five-dollar membership fee. Once you've joined, there is no need to renew — ever. (Dues are required each time you attend a meeting, though monthly, annual, and lifetime rates are available.)

After the meeting, some attendees will adjourn to a late-night food place for the aftermeeting. and continue their conversations.

Members can borrow books from our lending library. Everyone is welcome at events sponsored by and associated with the LASFS. These events include Friday night gaming, the Second Sunday social day, seasonal holiday parties, and our annual gift exchange. After the meeting is over, some members go out for more conversation over a late dinner or midnight snack. We call this the "aftermeeting". Currently aftermeetings are held at Coral Cafe, 3321 W. Burbank Blvd (at N. California St.), Burbank, CA 91505, 818-566-9725, 818-843-6575.
