Mr. Forrest J Ackerman was a long time member of the LASFS in its early days when it was called the “Los Angeles Chapter of the Science Fiction League”.
If you find the signature of the writer of this letter illegible, it is no surprise. It is none other than the legendary Edgar Rice Burroughs. His birthday is September 1, 1875 and for this reason, we honor his memory this month.
